_2012 has arrived! I hope you all had a good and relaxed start. I just came back from a trip to Nelson. This time I went over by plane. And what an awesome scenic flight I had! I feel so privileged to live in such a beautiful country! Well, and than I got the idea to launch "Grab a massage": A discounted massage on a certain day/time!
And the first one to grab is for Tuesday, 17.1.2012 at 10am. 1 hour for $50 - a saving of 33%! Be quick - first in, first served! Simply call or email me And watch this space for more to come... Wishing you a very blessed and meaningful Christmas!
Today I got not one, but 2 letters from our sponsor children. One of them is Adity - body & soul's sponsor child from India, who was born on the same day as body & soul NZ! I like the card she has sent, and as it is you who make it possible for me to support her, I want to share it with you: "Dear Sponsor, thank you for the impression you have made in my life. It is a 'light of hope' to me. Wishing you the best of this season and a bright New Year. This little lamp is my way of saying - Thank you!" I just came back from yet another busy weekend: A further training in myofascial release.
Myofascial release is a very gentle and highly effective technique to release the connective tissue that holds the body in dysfunctional postural patterns. Sustained pressure and stretches are used to release restricted fascia around muscles, helping to restore optimal functioning and movement. The good thing about bodywork trainings is, that I get a lot of treatment myself! So I could not only see some great reactions in my trainings partner's body, but could feel some quite good shifts within my own body, too. Myofascial release will be another great tool in my toolbox: gentle, powerful and relaxing. I am really looking forward to using it... Exam time again! Honestly, I am glad I don't have to sit any this year - I still remember vividly how stressful these times were...
Today I had a young lady coming for a massage after she had finished her last exam at high school! A thoughtful present from her mum - a well-earned reward for a lot of hard work! But it is more than that: massage helps to loosen all this muscles that tighten up during hard weeks of learning: especially in the back, neck and shoulder area. It soothes the nerves and helps to relax. And it just feels great!!! So if you know a young person who just finished her/his exams - or is in the midst of it: why not reward her/him with a massage?! I guarantee you will be loved for it!... Wow, what a weekend! Westpac hired me to give free shoulder rubs to their visitors at the home&garden show in Wellington. People loved it so much, that they had to bring in a colleague of mine to help!
Over all we had 400 - 500 people queueing up, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere at the stand, a chat about their financial dreams and a good, professional shoulder rub. For a lot of them it was the first stand they stopped at - what a great way to start the tour through the expo. It was hard work! But very rewarding, too: getting 'in touch' with so many people, listening to some life stories, meeting people who never had a massage in their life before, and hearing a grateful "thank you sooo much..." while looking at a smiling face a hundred times on a single day! A big 'Thank you' to Westpac for hiring me and my colleague for the weekend - it was great to work for you. And 'Thank you' to everyone who came to the stand to 'get in touch' with me - you made it a huge success and I enjoyed our time together. Please let Westpac know that you enjoyed it, too - they would love to get your feedback! (And yes, I would love to have some feedback here, too!) If you have an expo, conference or event coming up and are interested in offering massages: contact me. I am looking forward to do it again... This weekend I will be at the home & garden show in Wellington!
Westpac bank is offering free shoulder rubs at their stand ( number 9 ), and I will be there most of the time to take some stress off people's shoulders. It will be quite full on work, but good fun, too! I always enjoy being part of such an event - putting a smile on many faces on a single day. It is remarkable what result even a short massage can have. So: If you are planning to visit to the home & garden show this weekend, don't miss out on your free shoulder rub! I would love to see some familiar faces - and backs... Today I had another pregnant client. It is just something special about working with mums to be.
Being able to help them to release some of the discomforts of a pregnancy - like a sore lower back, tight shoulders, leg cramps and swollen legs is one part of it. But even more rewarding is to see them find rest, when sleeping at night becomes more difficult. To give them time to fully relax and enable them to bond with this new life growing inside! Pregnancy is such a special time in the life of a woman. Throughout the centuries massage has always been a integral part of it. For me it is a real privilege to be in touch with the wonder of life... |
